underwater eco sculptures by jason decaires taylorEco-sculptor Jason deCaires Taylor constructs eerie underwater sculptural installations that provide a place for marine species of fish, plants and coral to live. He uses materials that are environmentally friendly and that aid the growth of marine life under the sea. The artist is responsible for founding and creating the world’s first underwater sculpture park located off the coast of Genada, which is called Museo Subacuatico de Arte. MUSA features a collection of more than 500 of Jason deCaires Taylor’s sculptures.

the waitomo caves of new zealand’s northern island, formed two million years ago from the surrounding limestone bedrock, are home to an endemic species of bioluminescent fungus gnat (arachnocampa luminosa, or glow worm fly) who in their larval stage produce silk threads from which to hang and, using a blue light emitted from a modified excretory organ in their tails, lure in prey which then become ensnared in sticky droplets of mucus.
Pretty proud of the bf. He and his best friend started their business roughly a year ago, and they’ve just started getting filming contracts for big event rides all over australia under their new media business. I don’t think they saw the media work coming but fuck yeah so proud of them :)
